Thanks for the Memories!

Our Annual OccMed Update celebrated its 20th and final year in 2008. We are so grateful to all our participants, instructors and supporters. We made many new friends and have enabled safety and health professionals to receive quality professional points on the latest topics in occupational medicine for two decades. Looking toward the future, the Deep South Center for OH&S is planning an exciting new direction in our training and conferences. We look forward to a continued relationship with you, our partners, in occupational health and safety!

have to look further on down the road. If you change your mind and start it

back up just let me know. There are hundreds of CME courses out there ...

but The OccMed Update WAS a shinning star in the sky above all others that

I have gone to over the past 20+ years. SAD it's gone.

UAB Industrial Hygiene Graduate Student, Hatem Aldeeb and Occupational Health and Safety Doctoral Student, Sandra Foster participated in a 40 Hour Hazardous Waste Site Worker Training Course offered by UAB CLEAR Workplace Safety. The training gave students hands on training in dealing with contaminated sites and hazardous situations. UAB CLEAR Workplace Safety Program is under the direction of UAB Alum Kenny Oldfield, MSPH, CIH.

Our mission is to: Develop professionals who protect and promote the health and safety of workers through interdisciplinary education, research and outreach.

Our vision is to: Become a regional center of excellence that promotes occupational health and safety through interdisciplinary education and research.
