Amena Alkeswani wins CaRES Poster Competition and Travel Award at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center Annual Research Retreat on October 30, 2017

"Through CaRES I had the privilege of being introduced to the complex field of cancer research. I gained an appreciation and an understanding of the importance of this step in conquering cancer, the second leading cause of death in the U.S. Also, this experience gave me new-found enthusiasm and optimism about the future of cancer therapy, transforming the way I intended to practice medicine in the future. Therefore, I would like to thank all the CaRES faculty and my mentor Dr. Farrukh Afaq for their efforts in making this experience so special."

The 2017 CaRES Poster Session was held on July 10, 2017 as numerous CaRES interns and preceptors gathered together to show off their hard work over the summer.
