Beginning in the summer of 2016 the CaRES program:

  1. Expanded student recruitment beyond UAB medical students and public health students to include medical students from the University of South Alabama, veterinary medicine and pharmacy students from Auburn University, and pharmacy students from Samford University;
  2. Based some CaRES projects at the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology in Huntsville, Alabama in order to broaden the scope of CaRES by supporting projects in genomics, personalized medicine and bioinformatics, capitalizing on the UAB-CCC’s new affiliation with HudsonAlpha

We recruit graduate health professional students from these programs to participate in CaRES:

a. Schools of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (“UAB”) (Birmingham, AL)
b. School of Medicine at the University of South Alabama (“USA”) (Mobile, AL)
c. College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University (Auburn, AL)
d. Harrison School of Pharmacy at Auburn University (Auburn, AL)
e. McWhorter School of Pharmacy and School of Public Health at Samford University (Birmingham, AL)
