The UAB Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) accelerates research for improved human health. Research covers every phase of translation: from idea formation (T0); to the first testing of the idea in a cell, animal, or person (T1); to large scale clinical trials (T2); to moving a proven idea into health practices (T3); encouraging its adoption as a standard approach (T4); and engaging with the community to put science to work. An example of this community engagement element is One Great Community. One Great Community is the formal venue for developing and enhancing community partnerships, such as a partnership with the McWane Science Center to kick off the Health Change in Your Community Challenge for children age 7-13.
