Advisory Committees

There are three advisory committees that provide guidance and direction to the education, research and service activities of the Center

The Internal Advisory Committee represents academic and administrative leadership of the University who are dedicated to promoting excellence in all of our activities, especially those of prevention research and the promotion of the wide use of practices proven to promote and protect good health.

The External Advisory Committee is a small group that provides an outside perspective and evaluation to the overall research and community engagement activities of the Center.

Members of the Jefferson County Community Participation Board represent a broad cross section of the urban community including health, social service and education agencies, civic and neighborhood organizations, city and county government, academic researchers, judicial systems, and religious leaders. They set the stage for long-term partnerships that demonstrate how communities and researchers can work together effectively to gain and translate prevention and disease control knowledge. They work with the Center in designing and implementing relevant research initiatives and represent the Center on the National Community Committee of the CDC Prevention Research Center Program.
