Ali Ahmed M.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Ali Ahmed is a professor in the Department Medicine, in the Divisions of Geriatrics and Cardiology, School of Medicine, and Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health. A medical graduate from the University of Dhaka Sher-e-Bangla Medical College in Bangladesh, he also hold an MPH in Epidemiology from the UAB  School of Public Health.

Dr. Ahmed's research focuses on quality and outcomes of care in older heart failure patients using epidemiological methodologies, including propensity score matching.

He has secondary academic appointments at the UAB Center for Aging, UAB Center for Heart Failure Research, UAB Center for Cardiovascular Biology, UAB Center for Outcomes and Effectiveness Research, and UAB Lister Hill Center for Health Policy.
