This workshop has been specifically designed to reach owners of small to medium sized businesses from across business sectors. Representatives from municipalities are encouraged to attend.
This workshop will provide:
- Resources in improving health
- Resources in preventing work related injuries and illnesses
- Tools for improving worksite safety and health
- Networking opportunities to share and learn from your peers
In addition to the learning about worker health and safety, we will share information on career opportunities in environmental and occupational health and safety.
The workshop will feature Sister Yomi. Sister Yomi is an accomplished performing and visual artist, often described as a personality of rhythm, color and sound. After many years of artistic endeavors throughout the country, she is back in Alabama to serve, educate and inspire.
She has served as the Director of the Ancient Africa, Enslavement and Civil War Museum, Program Director of the Black Belt Arts and Culture Center and instructor and performer of traditional African dance and drums.
Her portrayal of the great American freedom fighter, Ms. Harriett Tubman, will take you back to another time as well as motivate and encourage you to embrace a healthier lifestyle.
This workshop will be held at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, 520 16th Street North, Birmingham, AL 35203. Birmingham Civil Rights Institute is a large interpretive museum and research center in Birmingham, AL. Additional information on parking and meeting room location will be provided in confirmation letter.
