Michael McIntosh received his Masters in Environmental Management from Samford University in 1995. He is certified through the American Board of Industrial Hygiene and the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Mr. McIntosh is currently the group leader in health and safety field support at Oak Ridge National Laboratories. Mr. McIntosh is responsible for providing professional and customer focused industrial hygiene and industrial safety services to ORNL divisions at the Laboratory and Y-12. He consistently assures that safety and health staff are integrated into program development activities by working with other line, program and division managers. Additionally, Mr. McIntosh is responsible for the management of safety and industrial hygiene assessment programs as well as ensuring appropriate priorities for safety and health within the facility.
Mr. McIntosh was previously employed with Bechtel Jacobs Company as Industrial Hygiene Program Manager where he was responsible for the BJC industrial hygiene resources and activities for Oak Ridge, Portsmouth and Paducah operations. He also provided training and professional development for the industrial hygiene staff. Mr. McIntosh developed a company-wide Safety and Health Handbook designed to convey BJC safety and health expectations and commitment to zero accidents.
Mr. McIntosh also worked as Assistant Director of Environmental Health at the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. He was responsible for OSHA compliance at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center research facility with over 5,000 civil service and subcontractor employees.
