Reduce your risk of OSHA imposed citations:

Fit Test is just the first step in your Respirator Protection Program, but it can be a serious OSHA violation if your employees have not been tested. The OSHA standard for Respiratory Protection, Title 29 CFR 1910.134 is one of the top four most frequently cited OSHA standards (the other three are scaffolding, fall protection and hazard communication).

Some of the most frequent sections of the 1910.134 standard cited by OSHA in inspections:

  • 1910.134 (f)(2) — Initial/annual fit testing: 328
  • 1910.134 (f)(1) — Failure to ensure employees using a tight-fitting facepeice respirator pass a qualitative or quantitative fit test: 263

Course Overview: This half day workshop will provide a brief history of respiratory protection and standards and guidelines (ANSI, OSHA, NIOSH). An emphasis is placed on respirator fit testing during hands-on session with qualitative and quantitative fit testing equipment. Participants will be encouraged to participate in sessions solving fit testing problems.

Who Should Attend: The course is designed for anyone with fit testing responsibilities. Also, industrial hygienists, safety professionals, technical and occupational health nurses would benefit from attending this workshop.

Participants will be encouraged to participate in sessions solving fit testing problems.
