Respirator Fit Testing

This one day workshop will provide a brief history of respiratory protection, standards and guidelines (ANSI, OSHA, NIOSH). Elements essential to an effective fit testing program will be covered. An emphasis is placed on respirator fit testing during hands-on session with qualitative and quantitative fit testing equipment. Participants will participate in sessions solving fit testing problems.

John R. Moore III is president of Control EHS. He has a proven record as an effective leader and trainer in health and safety. John is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and an OSHA authorized trainer (General Industry and Construction). He has over 20 years of experience applying Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) applications in a variety of industries.


The workshops will be held at the Courtyard Marriott/Homewood, 500 Shades Creek Parkway, Homewood, AL 35209-4418, (205)-879-0400. For the convenience of our participants, blocks of sleeping rooms have been made at the hotel where the programs will be held. The room rate is $107.00 night/includes full breakfast. The cutoff date for this room rate is May 4, 2017.


These workshops are offered by the Deep South Center for Occupational Health & Safety. The Center is an Education and Research Center (ERC) sponsored by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Auburn University. We provide a strong academic program of study which includes interdisciplinary course work and field experiences.
