Got a Safety & Health Problem? Can we help?

Did you know that we have an interdisciplinary component in our educational program that is training the occupational / environmental health and safety professionals of the future? Our Center brings together students, faculty, researchers and staff from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health, School of Nursing and Auburn University Samuel Ginn College of Engineering to offer graduate programs in:

  • Industrial Hygiene
  • Occupational Health Nursing
  • Occupational Safety & Ergonomics
  • Occupational Injury Prevention Research

How can we help? Graduate students in our academic programs, under the guidance of a faculty member, will visit your site. Working as a multi-disciplinary team of 4-5 graduate students we will investigate an identified area of concern. Each discipline in our Center will bring expertise to evaluating a problem - resulting in solutions! You could be a part of that team!

New teams will be formed in January and will be available for site visits

There is no charge for this service. We work closely with your facility’s safety and health team to address an issue - whether it is safety, ergonomics, noise exposures, low back injuries, repetitive motion, PPE, training - from evaluation to recommendations. We are training the environmental, occupational health and safety professionals of tomorrow - our Center has bright, inquisitive students - with a desire to make a difference in the lives of others!
