The Deep South Center for Occupational Health and Safety is one of 17 Education and Research Centers sponsored by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Our Center is a consortium of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Auburn University.
The Center has received funds earmarked for state and local government employees to attend certain educational programs – at no charge. We are trying to reach agencies that must deal with - either on a day to day basis or in emergency situations.
Scheduled courses for this year include:
Respirator Fit Testing Workshop, April 7, 2009, Birmingham
Air Sampling for Toxic Substances, TBA
Annual Public Employees Safety Conference, TBA
