Hazardous Substance Programs

 

The Deep South Center for Occupational Health and Safety is one of 17 Education and Research Centers sponsored by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.  Our Center is a consortium of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Auburn University.

The Center has received funds earmarked for state and local government employees to attend certain educational programs – at no charge.  We are trying to reach agencies that must deal with  - either on a day to day basis or in emergency situations.

Scheduled courses for this year include:

Respirator Fit Testing Workshop, April 7, 2009, Birmingham 
Air Sampling for Toxic Substances, TBA
Annual Public Employees Safety Conference, TBA
