Health Hazard Training

Course Description:

This course will educate students on strategies in recognizing potential health hazards and how to evaluate, and control these hazards in the workplace. Exposure to health hazards continues to be a challenge in the workplace; we will tackle topics relevant to the student and their workplace which will include different types of biological, chemical, physical, and ergonomic hazards. We will discuss control measures and techniques to control health hazards. We will highlight some of the specific health hazards such as lead, silica, and chemical related issues that plague the industry. This course will provide information on the types of health hazards and discuss ways to recognize, evaluate, and control them in the workplace. We will set up a facilitated, interactive training session on different case studies that occur in real workplace experiences. Students will test their understanding of the subject in hands-on activities.

Who Should Attend: Health and safety managers, safety committee members, occupational health nurses, supervisors, human resource personnel who want to obtain information about health hazards found in the workplace.

John R. Moore III is president of Control EHS. He has a proven record as an effective leader and trainer in health and safety. John is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and an OSHA authorized trainer (General Industry and Construction). He has over 20 years of experience applying Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) applications in a variety of industries.
