Respiratory Protection Program

Course Description: Students will gain knowledge of the requirements for the establishment, maintenance, and monitoring of a respiratory protection program. Use an array of respirators and support equipment through hands-on training. On the final day fit testing practices and techniques will be covered exclusively.

John R. Moore III is president of Control EHS. He has a proven record as an effective leader and trainer in health and safety. John is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and an OSHA authorized trainer (General Industry and Construction). He has over 20 years of experience applying Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) applications in a variety of industries.

For the convenience of our participants, blocks of sleeping rooms have been made at the hotel where the programs will be held. Participants should call the hotel directly at (205)-879-0400 and speak with Amber or Courtney for reservations and mention that you are attending a UAB/Deep South Center sponsored course. The room rate is $107.00 night/includes full breakfast. The cutoff date for this room rate is May 4, 2017.

Professional Points:

The Deep South Center for Occupational Health and Safety is an approved provider of the Alabama Board of Nursing (ABNP0420, expires 01/03/2019) and has awarded the Respiratory Protection w/ Fit Test Training Program 21.0 contact hours.

For all others, the Deep South Center for OH&S provides CEU's for the Respiratory Protection w/ Fit Test Training Program 1.75 contact hours.

The Center is an Education and Research Center (ERC) sponsored by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Auburn University.
