Are you up for the challenge?

The Global Health Case Competition is an exciting and unique opportunity for students at UAB to come together as multidisciplinary teams and propose innovative recommendations to a global health issue. All UAB students are encouraged to participate. Students can sign up as individuals or as a team. To register as a team, gather at least 4 students representing at least 3 UAB schools. An example for a team might be 1 graduate student from the SOPH, 1 undergraduate public health major, one engineering major, and two graduate students from the Collat School of Business.


1st Place Team-- $1,500

2nd Place Team-- $1,000

3rd Place Team-- $500

The winning team will also represent UAB at the international competition at Emory University in April 2016.

January 25th: Online Registration Opens

Online registration will open Monday, January 25th.

Please note that registration will be on a first come first serve basis,
so be sure to register as soon as possible!


February 10th: Team Meet and Greet

Ryals School of Public Health Room 107 


A chance to meet your teammates and learn about successful case strategies. Refreshments will be provided.

Feb 15-20: Case Competition Week

Monday, Feb. 15: Case Release-Team Captains will receive case via email at 5PM.

Friday, Feb. 19: Team Work Day (optional)- Each team will have an assigned team room. Food and coffee will be provided throughout the day. 

Saturday, Feb. 20: Competition Day-Teams present their strategies to the panel of judges. A luncheon and awards ceremony will follow the presentations.
