Byron C Jaeger, PhD

Assistant Professor
Ryals 327

I am an Assistant Professor in UAB's School of Public Health. I earned my Ph.D. in Biostatistics at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a concentration in health behavior. My research focuses on describing the role of diurnal (night-time) blood pressure patterns in cardiovascular disease, building predictive algorithms based on data structures that are compatible with wearable technology, and developing statistical tools to measure explained variability in mixed models. I am passionate about using modern statistical techniques to improve our understanding of cardiovascular disease. In addition to research, I teach an introductory R programming course.
