Biography: 

Ann Elizabeth Montgomery is an Assistant Professor at the UAB School of Public Health in the Department of Health Behavior as well as an Investigator with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Center on Homelessness Among Veterans and Birmingham VA Medical Center. Dr. Montgomery has conducted research and evaluation in a number of settings with an emphasis on vulnerable populations including individuals and families experiencing homelessness, persons living with HIV/AIDS, pregnant and parenting adolescents living in poverty, adults with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders, persons living in rural areas, and women. Currently, Dr. Montgomery’s work focuses on homelessness prevention, interventions to end homelessness among high-need Veterans, and the demography, epidemiology, and services utilization of Veterans experiencing homelessness. Dr. Montgomery received a Master of Social Work and Master of Public Administration from Columbia University as well as a doctorate from the UAB School of Public Health, Department of Health Behavior.
