Dr. Bisakha (Pia) Sen is tenured Associate Professor. She completed her Bachelor's in Economics from Presidency College, Calcutta (India) and came to the U.S. in 1992. She received her Ph.D in Economics from the Ohio State University in 1998. Dr. Sen's specializations are in Health and Labor Economics, Health Policy, and Applied Econometrics. Her research interests include the effects of environmental and policy changes on behaviors and health outcomes of vulnerable changes, including substance use, sexual activity, obesity, injury, and health service utilization. Dr. Sen has published extensively in economics and public health journals including Journal of Health Economics, Health Economics, Health Services Research, Social Science & Medicine, Journal of Policy Analysis & Management, Southern Economic Journal, Obesity, Journal of Adolescence, Journal of Mental Health Policy & Economics, and Contemporary Economic Policy, among others. Her research has been funded by NIH, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and CDC.
