Those pursuing a PhD, MSPH, or MS are required to complete the Canvas course "Overview of Public Health" by the end of 2nd semester. The course takes about 37 hours to complete including time spent reading, watching videos, attending seminars, completing assignments, and taking quizzes. Individual times may vary. All students enrolled in MS in Biostatistics, MSPH, and PhD programs are automatically placed in this course. If you already possess a MPH from an accredited institution, contact Cheryl Johnson at clynnj@uab.edu to see if this requirement can be waived for you.
