
This Fall's discussion book is The Invention of Air by Steven Johnson. The Invention of Air is a story of sweeping historical transformation, of genius and friendship, violence and world-changing ideas, that boldly recasts our understanding of the most significant events in our history.
Steven Johnson is the best-selling author of six books on the intersection of science, technology and personal experience. His writings have influenced everything from the way political campaigns use the Internet, to cutting-edge ideas in urban planning, to the battle against 21st-century terrorism.
There will be several discussion session scheduled during the Fall term; all SOPH faculty, staff and students are invited to participate. The discussion sessions will be announced at a later date.
