Internships - The IMPACT Program  

The South Central IMPACT Program (Interns and Mentors Program for ACTion in Public Health Preparedness) provides graduate students an opportunity to develop public health skills while assisting state and urban health departments in their efforts to assure a fully prepared public health workforce for the future. The SCCPHP solicits internship proposals from state and local public health agencies in the partnership and invites applications from graduate students from the universities in the region.

  • Interns are placed for a 480 hour internship in state and local health departments in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
  • A stipend of $5,000 is paid for each internship.
  • Eligibility: Graduate students from universities in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi with an interest in public health preparedness are encouraged to apply.
