2007 Mississippi Agricultural Security Conference
May 22 – 24, 2007, Vicksburg, Mississippi
The South Central Center for Public Health Preparedness (SCCPHP), the Mississippi Department of Health and the Mississippi Board of Animal Health partnered to plan and host a conference that focused on threats to agriculture in Mississippi. The purpose of the conference was to provide information on the nature of these threats, strategies to reduce the risk of these threats, the response to agricultural incidents and the possible impact of an agricultural disaster on rural communities and the state. In addition to providing information on agricultural incidents this conference emphasized the need for improved inter-agency and inter-disciplinary communication and cooperation.
