ADMISSION APPLICATION INFORMATION AND DEADLINES

Master's and Doctoral students are encouraged to begin studies in the fall term of each year. Some programs allow spring admission.  To ensure full consideration for a merit award or named scholarship, complete applications for admission must be submitted no later than February 1. (Note that first year international students are not eligible for merit awards from the School of Public Health).

Applications for admission will not be processed until all credentials required by the SOPHAS and the School of Public Health have been received. Applications and materials submitted are held for one year; if an admission decision is not made within that time, the records will be destroyed.

Applicants are responsible for monitoring the submission and receipt of all application materials to SOPHAS and are encouraged to monitor their application status and complete their applications promptly.  SOPHAS and the school will provide ongoing and responsive communications with the applicant.

All application materials become the property of the university and may not be released to any other individual or the applicant.

Applicants, except those applying to dual-degree programs such as the MPH/MBA, to the UAB School of Public Health should apply on-line with the centralized application service, SOPHAS, at www.soph.uab.edu .  For application information contact SOPHAS at (617) 612-2090 or the UAB School of Public Health at (205) 934-2684.

Applicants to PhD or MS degree programs or to dual-degree programs such as the MPH/MBA, MPH/MPA, MPH/MSN, MPH/ MSW, MPH/JD, MPH/OD, MPH/MD, MPH/DVM, MPH/PhD, and MSPH/PHD programs must apply on-line, for both programs, at www.uab.edu/graduate  or contact the School of Public Health at (205) 934-2684 for application  information. Please note - all recommendation letters must be submitted on-line or sent directly to the School of Public Health Office of Student and Academic Services, 1530 3rd Avenue South, RPHB 130, Birmingham, Alabama  35294.
