A minimum of 1100 (550 on each of the verbal and quantitative sections) is required with the analytical writing requirement variable by department. Depending on the applicant's previous experience, the Departments of Health Behavior and  Maternal and Child Health will consider scores with a minimum of 1000.
DrPH applicants may submit an MCAT in lieu of the GRE.

PhD applicants must provide a GRE.
Submitting an alternate test score in lieu of the GRE may affect your ranking for consideration for named scholarships for which you may have applied.
  • Test of English as a Second Language (TOEFL)
International applicants whose native language is not English or who did not complete a degree at an English-speaking institution must submit a TOEFL with TWE test score.  The minimum acceptable score is: (Paper Based) 550, (Computer Based) 213 and (Internet-Based) 79-80.
  • Other aspects of an applicant's record, such as educational achievement, professional experience and clarity of career goals are helpful in determining admissibility. Generally admissions decisions are based on an overall assessment of the adequacy of an applicants preparation and desire for the successful completion of graduate study in the degree track selected in the School of Public Health.  Therefore, each department may consider requests for exceptions to the minimum requirements or set additional requirements for admission.  Refer to individual department descriptions for details.
