Admission Decisions

The School of Public Health has the following possible positive admission decisions for the MPH, MSPH, MS, DrPH and PhD degrees.

  • Admit - This means that all minimum requirements are met or exceeded and the department and school feel that the applicant will successfully complete the degree.
  • Admit Probation - This means that some portion of the application did not meet the minimum requirements but the department and school feel that the applicant may successfully complete the degree.  Applicants admitted on probation in the School of Public Health must earn at least a 3.0 grade point average by the end of the semester when their graduate semester hours attempted equals or first exceeds 12.
  • Admit Contingent or Admit Probation Contingent - This means that in addition to the admission status of Admit or Admit on Probation, the applicant provided copies of official transcripts or test scores to expedite the application review process and must now provide the official documents.  All contingencies must be cleared, by the end of the first academic term or the student will be precluded from enrolling in further course work until the contingency is met.
