Master of Public Health (in Maternal and Child Health)
The MPH programs in maternal and child health are designed to educate individuals who will plan, administer, and evaluate programs in maternal and child health. The programs provide information about the special problems faced by women and children, including children with special health care needs, and their families. The programs develop and integrate skills from such fields as epidemiology, statistics, management, health promotion, and evaluation, and demonstrate their application in problem solving and systems development.
The Department offers two MPH programs, the Enhanced MCH Skills Program and the Advanced Leadership and Practice Program. Advanced Leadership and Practice Program is only available to currently enrolled MPH students. Each incorporates the School's MPH core curriculum and the Department's core curriculum in Maternal and Child Health. Students may select one of three emphasis areas: 1) MCH epidemiology and analytical skills, 2) MCH program administration, policy, and advocacy, or 3) MCH international health and global studies.
Admissions: Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the School of Public Health. All MPH applicants are admitted to the Enhanced MCH Skills Program (61 credit hours).
