Applications are now available for the 2012 Jamaica Course. This 3 credit hour course is open to advanced undergraduate, medical, nursing, and public health students and is appropriate for those who would like to experience a field-based studies course which emphasizes the integration and application of classroom, laboratory and field experiences to foster problem-solving skills for infectious disease ecology, surveillance and control. The perspectives and recommendations from the worlds of business, medicine, public health, nursing, theology, law, the liberal arts, and science are essential to improving health and health care around the world. It is for this reason that UAB is calling for students from multiple disciplines to address a global health challenge in a team setting.
Experience the various tastes, sounds and wares of countries from around the world at UAB’s 11th annual International Bazaar. Presented by the Interculture committee, the free event will feature food, vendors and performances 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Jan. 25, 2012, in the Hill University Center Great Hall, 1400 University Blvd.
