UAB's Department of Biostatistics is pleased to announce the availability of predoctoral fellowships for ambitious Biostatistics Department students who wish to receive rigorous training in cutting-edge technologies in statistics, genetics, molecular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics. These NHLBI-funded (T32HL079888) fellowships will be focused upon the varied research of the Biostatistics Department where successful candidates should have strong quantitative training including calculus and linear algebra. We seek applicants who understand and are comfortable working with both biology and math. We seek motivated applicants with a desire to succeed and who can work in a team environment. The funds from this grant may be used only for US Citizens and permanent residents.

This is an ideal opportunity to obtain scientific publications and intellectual development that will lay the foundation for future successful professional development in either academia or industry. The program aims to develop independent investigative skills in the development, evaluation, and application of advance statistical methods. Applied experience is provided via co-mentorship by UAB's well established NHLBI-funded investigators.
