I received my BSc in Animal Science from the University of Ghana in Accra, Ghana. I then went on to obtain my MSc and PhD in Poultry Genetics from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. My PhD research focused on the detection of QTLs for growth and body composition on the chicken genome.

I joined the Section on Statistical Genetics in February of 2007. I am currently working under the supervision of Nengjun Yi on the effect of multiple interacting genes on age-related growth and body composition in chickens.
