Jasmin holds a MS in Statistics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2001. He received his PhD from the same University in August 2004. His thesis research, “Power to find linkage in epistatic models: Comparison between the Symmetric Two and Three stage and the Guo-Elston procedures” was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Stephen Finch.

Jasmin worked for 3 years as Teacher Assistant at Stony Brook, and for more than a year as a Statistician on the Suffolk County Informal Caregivers to Elders survey. This study was realized by the School of Social Welfare of the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

He joined the SSG in September 2004. He is currently learning more about the application of statistical methodologies in genetics. His research interest includes among others Admixture mapping, gene mapping in epistatic models and gene-environment interaction.
