Siham received her DVM from Zagazig University in Egypt. She worked as a veterinarian at Khartoum Educational Veterinary Hospital and later as a research assistant at the National Veterinary Research Laboratory in, Sudan. She received MS. in Epidemiology from Center for Computational Epidemiology, Bioinformatics and Risk Analysis CCEBRA, Tuskegee University. Her graduation research was a Risk Assessment study for the Introduction of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy into the USA via importation from adjacent countries, which was a part of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy Risk Analysis Study (Joint project USDA/Harvard and Tuskegee University). As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, she had the opportunity to become a part of the computational modeling team, and to participate in the development of different risk analysis projects. Her research was based on hazards identification, exposure assessment, and risk characterization.
She worked as Research Assistant at the International Center for Tropical Animal Health, ICTAH at Tuskegee University. She contributed to a project that studied the effects of stress on the immune system, in addition to a surveillance study for fish ponds owned by small farmers in Macon County. Later, she worked at the Center for Biomedical Research in neuroscience research that investigated the aementia associated with HIV RCMI, Tuskegee University. Now she has joined Section on Statistical Genetics in Biostatistics department as a post doc.
