Shravan received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Madras (India) in 2004 and is currently pursuing a MS degree in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Alabama (Birmingham).

He is currently working as student assistant with the SSG (starting May.2009). His current work involves developing a Hidden Markov Model (HMM) for alignment of metagenomic sequence reads.
