Dr. Holt received her Ph.D. in Statistics and Measurement from the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Technology, Research and Assessment at Northern Illinois University. She joins the Section on Statistical Genetics as a Visiting Associate Professor this summer for her sabbatical.
