Jelai Wang System Programmer Lead
Department of Biostatistics
University of Alabama at Birmingham
Full CV
Current Location: Wang Scientific Software Solutions, LLC

Jelai Wang received his B.Sc. degree in computer science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He then worked as a software engineer in statistical genetics groups at both Pfizer Global Research Alameda (formerly Parke-Davis Laboratory for Molecular Genetics) and Celera Diagnostics before joining the Section on Statistical Genetics at UAB.

Currently, he directs the computing team, which is primarily responsible for implementing the statistical methods developed within the SSG and putting together high quality software for distribution. By introducing modern software engineering methods and tools, learning and understanding more of the science, and making intelligent use of available high performance computing resources the team hopes to guide the SSG in making good software and computing decisions, and ultimately become an integral part of its success.
