Nick received a B.S. in Statistics from Loyola University of Chicago in 2002. He then completed a Ph.D. in Biostatistics at the Medical College of Wisconsin under Purushottam (Prakash) Laud. His dissertation focused on Bayesian nonparametric modeling of genetic association studies using Dirichlet Processes.
Nick joined the SSG as a postdoctoral fellow in August of 2008. His research interests include applications of Bayesian nonparametric models and machine learning approaches to genetic data. He is also involved in genetic studies of immune response to Anthrax Vaccine Adsorbed, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, and copy number variation in African-Americans.
