Nicholas J. Schork, professor of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego, is a leader in statistical genetics. He has been at the forefront of developing statistical approaches to mapping genes for complex traits. He has focused on developing powerful and flexible approaches that accommodate and capitalize on multivariate phenotypic data, multipoint linkage methods, and the added power of simultaneously estimating the effects of multiple QTLs. He has particular expertise in haplotype analysis and has published many insightful applied gene mapping efforts.
