Ramprasad joined the SSG in summer 2006. Prior to this he was a graduate assistant in the Dept. of the Mechanical Engineering at UAB from where he brought experience with parallel scientific codes and numerical methods. His work at the section focused on developing, and redesigning computational codes used in statistical genetics to enhance performance and extensibility. He also participated in the overall software development processes of the section. After two years at the SSG, his interests led him to the Parallel Programming Lab at the University of Illinois in July 2008 where he continues to work on high performance scientific computing applications.
