Full CV

Dr. Kui Zhang obtained his Ph.D. in probability and statistics from Beijing University in 1999 and joined the section of statistical genetics of University of Alabama at Birmingham as a faculty member in August of 2003. His primary research interests focus on developing statistical and computational methods for statistical genetic problems including but not limited to linkage disequilibrium mapping, haplotype analysis, rare variants analysis, and gene expression analysis. He is particularly interested in statistical genetic problems related to next generation sequencing data. Currently, Dr. Zhang is continuing his methodological research and is involved in several genetic association studies of HIV and cancer. He is actively seeking new opportunities to collaborate with other investigators to apply these methods to their studies.
