CaRES Orientation Luncheon, Seminar Series, and Poster Session Schedule, 2018

CaRES students based at UAB are required to attend our orientation luncheon, three seminars, and the CaRES poster session, as indicated below.  CaRES students based at HudsonAlpha (HA) can attend the luncheon and seminars if possible, or alternatively, they should complete the prefessional development and responsible conduct of research seminars at HA required by HA's "Bio-Train" program.  HA students should present a poster at our CaRES poster session, at the HA poster session (to be scheduled), or at both venues if possible.  Please direct questions about these activities to CaRES Program Director Dr. Peter Smith (prsmith@uab.edu).

CaRES Poster Session
Hill University Center, 3rd Floor, Ballrooms B, C, and D
Tuesday, July 24, 12:30-3:30 PM

Each student will display a poster on their CaRES research and posters should be hung on the poster boards in the Hill University Center Ballrooms no later than 12:45 PM

  • 12:45-1:00 PM: All students line up and each student takes the microphone for 15 seconds to state his or her name, preceptor name, poster number, and poster title (so that all students become aware of the posters of special internest to them)
  • 1:00-2:45 PM: Poster browsing and networking (refreshments provided)
  • 2:45-3:00 PM: Group photograph and closing comments by CaRES program faculty, staff, and students
  • 3:00 PM: Adjourn and take-down posters
