A Safety Associate in the Entry Level Professional Program:
  • Complete an unprecedented skill-building opportunity which prepares it’s participants for a career in safety and health at GP.
  • May be offered an opportunity to gain exposure to subject matter experts as well as key leaders in our manufacturing facilities located across the country. 
  • Launch their career in Atlanta with an orientation to our company, to safety and health, and to the Global Safety and Health Department
  • Understand, develop, apply, and coach employees on our culture of Market Based Management®. 
  • Receive hands-on training and practical application of safety and health practices at GP, along with exposure to business and manufacturing processes.
  • Move to a field assignments, where they will continue to engage with the Global Safety and Health team on scheduled off-site safety and health audits, IH surveys, training programs, seasonal outages, meetings, and other opportunities in different businesses and geographical areas. 
  • Upon successful completion of the ELP Program, participants may move into a full-time position and continue their career as a safety and health professional

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or other safety concentration.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of occupational safety and health and/or industrial hygiene.
  • At least one Safety and Health focused internship or co-op position in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Ability to relocate per program requirements.

GTRI is looking for an occupational safety and health professional to provide technical assistance to small business in state of GA under a grant from the Department of Labor-OSHA.  Experience in preparing technical reports.  Provide technical presentations to employees and employers as part of outreach training programs.  In state travel is required. Selection process will include passing a pre-employment background screening. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in a relevant field, with 0-3 years’ experience.

Tenure Track Faculty Positiona: Industrial Hygiene
Department of Global Environmental Health Sciences

Tulane University School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in the Department of Global Environmental Health Sciences at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with rank determined by experience and accomplishments. The successful candidate will join our ABET-accredited graduate program in industrial hygiene and participate in research and teaching in the areas of industrial hygiene, and occupational and environmental health.

Applicants should demonstrate strong interest or experience in interdisciplinary environmental public health research and teaching in one or more of the following areas: general industrial hygiene, exposure assessment, occupational epidemiology, indoor air quality, emerging industrial hazards, inhalation toxicology.  In addition to individual research and teaching, the successful candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with other faculty in the Department of Global Environmental Health Sciences, other departments in the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and other schools and centers within Tulane University.

Applicants must possess a terminal degree in industrial hygiene or relevant field and be board certified (ABIH) or eligible to attain certification within 3 years. For consideration at the rank of Associate Professor, candidates must have an established, vibrant research program with a history of external funding.
