Dr. Szychowski is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he is a member of the Section on Research Methods and Clinical Trials. He holds a secondary appointment in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and serves as Director of the Biostatistics and Data Management Core of the Center for Research in Women's Health.  He has served as the primary statistician for several trials and projects within the Ob/Gyn Divisions of Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.  He is currently the head of the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) for the multicenter Cesarean Section Optimal Antibiotic Prophylaxis (C/SOAP) study, and he is the Deputy Director of the multicenter Chronic Hypertension and Pregnancy (CHAP) DCC.  Jeff is also the primary statistician for the Redefining Dystocia Diagnosis in Labor Using Electrohysterography (RIDDLE) study.

Dr. Szychowski trained as a postdoctoral scholar in the UAB Department of Biostatistics after completing studies at the University of Alabama (Applied Statistics, 2006).  His research interests include issues in the conduct and management of clinical trials, interim analyses, and regression analysis.  Dr. Szychowski is also very interested in statistics education and teaches courses in statistical methods, categorical data analysis, and multivariate data analysis.
