The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), a public university founded in 1969, enrolls over 18,000 students in a variety of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. Besides begin known for academics, UAB has a renowned medical center which serves the local community.

The online Master of Public Health degree program at UAB comes with numerous options for specialization including: Environmental Health and Toxicology; Epidemiology; Health Behavior; Health Care Organization; Industrial Hygiene; Maternal and Child Health Policy and Leadership; and Occupational Health and Safety.
