Please consider nominating a faculty member for this the OUTSTANDING FACULTY PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE AWARD and a staff member for the OUTSTANDING STAFF PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE AWARD. Please submit nominations to me no later than Friday, March 21st.



The UAB School of Public Health annually recognizes a member of the faculty and staff who has distinguished himself or herself in honoring the vision of the School through demonstrative efforts and accomplishments in public health service.  Such service should significantly contribute to the promotion, protection, or enhancement of the health of people through policy or systems development, direct intervention, or community education. Public health service activities may include technical assistance, program development, advocacy, education, or leadership. The Dean presents the award at the spring graduation reception.



Exemplary work with international, national, state, or local public health, health or social service agencies; governmental or non-governmental entities; non-profit, for-profit, voluntary or advocacy organizations; community agencies, coalitions, associations or cooperatives; or neighborhood groups with a goal to improve the  health or  conditions in which people can be healthy.
